- Laurie Friedman, AIA LEED AP
- CA - 22218 MA - 7799
Laurie founded Earthlight Dwellings in 2009 with a vision of creating sustainable modern architecture by integrating the latest design and construction technology combined with timeless techniques used for centuries to produce energy efficient homes.
Trained in fine art and photography, Laurie earned her Master of Architecture degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and has been a licensed licensed architect in both Massachusetts and California for 30 years. Laurie also is an educator, teaching sustainable architectural design courses to middle and high school students.
Laurie's past work includes original custom home designs on both east and west coasts of the U.S. and in Mexico. Her focus on socially responsible architecture led her to work on projects that include a group home for recovering adolescents and a large scale multiple family affordable housing project in South Central Los Angeles. She and her work have also been featured on HGTV's "Curb Appeal," on a Dwell Magazine home tour, and in AIA San Francisco's Small Firms, Great Projects publications in 2012 and 2016.
Laurie earned her LEED Certification in 2009 and has since dedicated her practice to the development and refinement of modern sustainable home designs. Laurie's Sleepy Hollow Sustainable is one of Marin County's first LEED Gold certified custom homes.
